How To Fix Google Play Error Code 491

I can't download apps on my phone. Whenever I tap Install, this Google Play error 491 pops up on my ZTE ZMAX Pro. How can I fix error 491 on Google Play app?

SOLUTION 1: RESTART ANDROID PHONE/TABLET

SOLUTION 3: UNINSTALL UPDATES FOR GOOGLE PLAY APPS

You can uninstall updates for Google Play Store and Google Play Service to fix the error.
  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Uninstall Updates
  2. Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Service > Uninstall Updates.
  3. You can then restart your device for the change to take effect.

SOLUTION 4: REMOVE GOOGLE ACCOUNT

If it is your Google account that cause the error 491, you can fix the error by removing Google account from your Android phone/tablet. Then after restarting your device, you can add the account back and see if you can normally download, install, update apps/games in Google Play Store.
  1. Go to the Settings > Accounts;
  2. Choose your Google Account and select "Remove Account";
  3. After the account has been removed from your device, reboot the device;
  4. Once the device restarts, go to Settings > Account to add your Google account back.

  3. Tap the access points and check if they have proxy/port set;
  4. If the proxy/port is set, delete the APN.

Firstly, enable downloading apps from Internet:
  1. Go to Settings > Security.
  2. Toggle on the button of Unknown source.
  3. This will enable the device to install apps that are downloaded outside of Google Play Store.

SOLUTION 8: FACTORY RESET ANDROID DEVICE

If the above methods fail to fix the error 491, you can try factory resetting your Android phone/tablet. The reset will delete all data and settings on your device, therefore, it is important to make a full backup of your device before the reset.
  1. Backup your phone/tablet;
  2. Go to Settings > Backup & Reset;
  3. Tap Factory data reset.
